It’s the biggest vegan festival in the country, and this year, it moved to Makati for a weekend of incredible food and even better community vibes.

A Long Overdue Look Back

Better late than never, right? This post is a little behind schedule, but I couldn’t let the year pass without documenting one of our favorite annual traditions. VegFest Pilipinas is the first and biggest vegan festival in the Philippines, and it’s an event we always look forward to as a family.

While it normally takes place in November in Pasay, 2025 gave us a little change of scenery. The festival moved to March (29th–30th) and was held in the heart of Makati City. Even with the change in date and location, the vibe was exactly what we’ve come to love: incredible food, great talks, and a beautiful community.

Lunching Our Way Through the Festival

We headed over on Saturday, March 29th, making sure to arrive early enough to beat the crowds and—more importantly—secure our lunch!

If you’ve ever been to VegFest, you know the struggle is choosing what to eat because everything looks amazing. We ended up with a bit of a feast:

  • VeganBytes: We grabbed some of their famous pizzas (a hit with the kids).
  • Greenery Kitchen: You can’t go wrong with their rice combo meals for that classic comfort food feel.
  • Cold Folks: Even though we were full, there’s always room for ice cream.
  • om bakes: We picked up some of their delicious cookies; they are a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth.
  • UnMeat: We also got to try the new unMeat hotdogs, which were a great snack for the boys.

The Mandatory Grocery Purchase

No trip to VegFest is complete without a stop at The Vegan Grocer. It’s basically a mandatory part of our visit! We stocked up on our favorites and discovered a few new local vegan products to take home. It’s so great to see how much the plant-based scene in the Philippines continues to grow every year.

Talks, Walks, and Tired Toddlers

After lunch, we spent some time walking around the different stalls and caught a bit of the live talks on stage. There is always so much to learn, whether it’s about animal rights or just tips for a sustainable lifestyle.

However, as every parent knows, your schedule is eventually dictated by the kids! By mid-afternoon, the heat and the excitement started to catch up with Jacob and Riley. Before the meltdowns could begin, we decided to call it a day and head home early.

Stay in the loop!

Join us as we capture everyday life in the Philippines, share our travels around the world, and navigate the adventure of raising a family.

All in all, VegFest 2025 was another win for us. It’s more than just a food festival; it’s a place where we feel right at home. We’re already looking forward to the next one!
